Chapter 8: Technology, the Use of Force and Weapons of Mass Destruction

Your strikes cause massive destruction throughout the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union responds in kind, wiping out massive tracts of the United States in an attempt to destroy the United States' capacity to launch more strikes. However, since both countries built their arsenals around the principals of mutually-assured destruction, the United States retains a large second-strike capacity, and the war escalates. Soon, despite international efforts to intervene, both countries lie in ruins and the world moves toward nuclear winter. Your rash decision has resulted in hundreds of millions of deaths, with the death toll still mounting, and the long term repercussions could include the end of human society as we know it.
